      The new solid flooring - StayFlat technology

      Lifewood is, in essence, a three-layered floorboard made of premium grade WA timber that is produced wider and longer. By cross-engineering the product, it allows the core and bottom layers to utilise the less attractive parts of the same timber, leaving the best-looking timber for the top.

      This design produces a solution for the timber that is usually unsuitable for premium grade flooring (if it was produced as a solid board) and so minimises waste. So not only is it using our local timbers more responsibly and sustainably, but it also creates a floorboard that is guaranteed to stay premium for a lifetime.

      1. Polish – 7 coats of very low emission European polyurathane that is tough and non-yellowing.
      2. Scientifically tested density – Essential for matching floors to individual lifestyles.
      3. Tight bevel – Minimises shadow lines between boards and provides that authentic timber look. Easier cleaning.
      4. Face grading – Hand-selected face for the highest quality appearance. No ugly boards.
      5. Colour selection – Essential for even batch colour and control of colour variation without staining, so you get what you ordered.
      6. Precise machining – Essential for high quality floor appearance and installation.
      1. Expansion gap – Provides resistance to cupping if the floor gets wet or experiences extreme humidity.
      2. Cross-lamination – Essential to resist cupping and warping. Allows timber to be used more sustainably.
      3. Controlled moisture content and seasoning – Essential for stability and reduce shrinkage.
      4. Exact layer thickness – Ensures stability and increased sanding life.
      5. Glue – Very low emission European glue that is safe and guarantees the boards do not delaminate.
      6. Polished all surfaces – Improves stability and moisture resistance.

      • We've also produced the floorboards long and wide, which has always been considered the premium look around the world, but has not been an achievable option until now. This eliminates the use of thin, narrow, short, highly-varied and mixed grade boards.
